Well, I'm old Niagara College alum myself and I wish my department (computer geeks) would have done something like this. I think it would have helped a lot of the confused students in my program learn some social and networking skills to help them out down the line.

Great post!

hmm…I’m wondering if we should start some sort of Facebook group for people who got their jobs through Third Tuesday ? I would be curious to see how that niche plays out.

Thanks for visiting, Parker.

Hey Zoe,

Great post! It particularly struck a chord with me because I also got my job through my blog and Third Tuesday. I think that students have really started to realize that value of going to an event like that because it seems that there are a lot more of them working the room these days.

And I definitely agree with you about explaining social media to students versus to our parents' generation. Its just easier when you can relate it to other technology that they use on a daily basis.

Cheers,

Parker
